I finally did it! I bought a condo after much deliberation and anxiety! The condo is called "Epic" and it is located on First Hill, in between the trendy Capital Hill and downtown districts. I bought a 1-bedroom condo facing the west.
With the recent influx of professionals seeking work with Microsoft, Amazon and Boeing, Seattle has seen skyrocketing home and condo prices. Condo conversions are on the rise as builders try to capitalize on the current trend. The apartment building that I was living in went through a similar conversion making my search quite simple! I even got a discount for being a tenant buyer!!
I actually happen to be the first person to occupy my unit in the building. The building management jokingly mentioned that I should become the Condo Homeowner Association's president for this very reason. Hmmm, I'm yet to see what this all means. But for now, I'll enjoy being a homeowner till I see my first mortgage payment go from my pay check!
